Who is Triggenometry?

Hello, dear reader and welcome to my blog!

My name is Thomas but in the many corners of the internet that I frequent, I’m known as Triggenometry — or Triggy for short. I’m a queer millennial hailing from the holy grail of the Midwestern United States known most commonly as Cincinnati, Ohio.

Growing up, I developed a variety of interests in different things. I played sports, was in my high school band, and even dabbled in community theater from time to time. At heart, I’ve always fancied myself a bit of a nerd because no matter what I’m interested in at the moment, I tend to learn as much as possible and wax philosophically to anyone that will listen.

Hence my desire to create a blog! Anyone who knows me has probably realized that once you get me started on something, it’s hard to shut me up. I’ve always considered myself someone with decent writing skills, so I figured that a blog would be a good way to put those skills — and my desire to talk about things that interest me — to good use.

This blog is just one of many creative outlets that I hope to explore in the future. I also stream regularly on Twitch and at some point in the near future hope to expand into making some short form and long form video content as well. If you’d like to keep up with what I’m doing, I encourage you to follow me on social media — you can find links to each of my sites at the bottom of this page!

Although this blog is more of a passion project, I’d love to be able to make better content more frequently. If you’d like to help make that happen, please consider donating to my Ko-fi. Do not feel obligated to do so whatsoever but just know that I appreciate each and every dollar of support!

But what is this blog even about?

Great question!

When I originally got the idea to start a blog, I had a lot of ideas for what I wanted it to be. Eventually, I settled on making it about video games and other related, nerdy topics since it that fits with the general theme of my content creation journey.

I play a variety of different genres of video games but some of my favorites include roguelikes, worldbuilding sims, and roleplaying games. As a millennial, I of course have a fondness for many of the franchises that I grew up with like Pokémon, Sonic the Hedgehog, and The Legend of Zelda.

My goal with this blog is to help expose people to a broad variety of different video games. To that end, I plan to write game reviews, recommendation guides, as well as ‘best of’ type articles. For games that I’m particularly passionate about, I might even write an occasional guide or two!

At the end of the day, I feel like most people don’t venture too far outside of their comfort zone with video games. I find that a lot of people tend to stick to one or two franchises or genres and never branch out. If I can help spark an interest in a new game, genre, or related topic, I’ll consider that a win.

In conclusion, I hope you enjoy your time here and find my musings insightful! If you’d like to reach out to me personally, feel free to do so using any of the social media links at the bottom of this page!
